A photojournalist since 1992,
Chad's assignments have taken him to nearly 20 countries, from Morocco to Croatia, Bhutan to Vietnam. Chad has worked as the chief photographer for The Missoula Independent since 1999, and he also contributes regularly to book projects and magazines like Paddler, Redbook, the New York Daily News and the Big Sky Journal.
The Society of Professional Journalists and the Montana Newspaper Association have recognized his work annually, and was named "Photojournalist of the Year" in 2001 by the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies for his unblinking coverage of police riots at a Hells Angels gathering. A reader's poll in the Independent has named him "Best Photographer in Missoula" the past four years running.
An avid skier, climber and traveler, Chad is happiest when exploring Montana's high country, camera in hand.
